ATTA Remembers Battle of the Somme

Sports Remembers - 100th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme through Sport:

Wallace Mahaffy R IRISH (former Northern Ireland International & Inter Services Table Tennis Champion) joins Daniel McFaul (aged 8) Ulster Futures Squad player and member of Lisburn ‘Rapid’ TTC to remember the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of The Somme through Sport.

The Battle of the Somme saw men from an Irish Nationalist and British Unionist background fight along-side one another standing together as soldiers in the British Army. Many of these men would have played sport with one another and against one another across all of Ireland. One of these sports would have been Table Tennis which was played throughout the four Irish Provinces of Ulster, Leinster, Munster & Connacht.
